The original crowns that were placed in 1886 on the head of the Madonna della Carita' and the child on her knees were kept at the Sanctuary and were stolen in 1927. In the following years, despite the fire that destroyed the statue of the Madonna in 1928, the people of Moschiano raised funds and gold to forge two new crowns that were placed on the head of the new statue of the Madonna and Jesus in 1929. Since then these crowns have been jealously kept in a safe place and used only on special occasions, replaced for daily use by copies of much lesser value but nevertheless of great symbolic and emotional value.
