The church of the Body of Christ, located in the center of Moschiano, today the parish church of Maria SS della Carita', was probably built in the early 1500s as a municipal church. Since 1700 it enjoyed special privileges and documents from 1625 show that it was the seat of a Confraternity already in the 16th century. Restored because it was dilapidated for the first time in 1848, it underwent further restorations in the following years which unfortunately led to the loss of some historical evidence such as the paintings of the vault, pieces of altars and more. It is said that probably under the main altar there is a crypt once used as a burial place (perhaps for members of the Brotherhood). There was certainly one in the center of the church destroyed during one of the 20th century restorations. Over the years it has suffered several thefts of works and sacred objects, especially in the 1970s. Of great interest is the wooden portal from 1592 and the altarpiece on the main altar of Martorano painted in 1848. Cataloged by the Cultural Heritage at # 1500679617.
