The original Altar was built in 1931 as evidenced by the writing at the bottom (THE DEAD JESUS COMMISSION - DIRECTED BY MRS. -- YEAR 1931 -- ANNA RICCIARDI) and until its renovation in 2016 it had an iron structure with glass in place of the frontal that allowed a glimpse of the statue of the Dead Jesus. The same statue that was also used in the rite of the "Three Hours of Agony" and in the Good Friday procession. After the Martorano painting was removed in the 1980s, the wooden Cross (SKU 2300104) with the Dead Jesus was placed on a pedestal on the main altar. Subsequently, first the cross was replaced and then, with the return of the painting, they were placed to the left of the main altar before the balustrade. The altar was classified by the Cultural Heritage at # 1500047422
