Cultural Heritage Catalog

Last updated Sep 16 2024

Pending the creation, with the support of the competent civil and religious authorities, of a "space" or "area" where relics of the past can be grouped, preserved and displayed, while nowadays are scattered and abandoned everywhere with the high risk of being stolen, thrown away or destroyed (as has already happened in the past), these pages aim to be a humble attempt to catalogue them, preserve them and spread knowledge, even if in a "virtual" form. These are monuments, work of art, documents and other things from the past that can still be (or were) admired in Moschiano and that for years have remained segregated in more or less known places but that are unknown to many. The list is not exhaustive and will continue to be updated as other relics are catalogued.

The listed artifacts are divided and can be consulted by "Categories" and other elements that unite them and that will be gradually added. By clicking on an element within each category you can see other photos, read more details about it and, where possible, access the link of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage if they have catalogued it. Unfortunately, with great regret, we must point out the large number of objects and other things that over the years have disappeared, stolen, destroyed or that lie in miserable conditions and require redevelopment. We would like to hope that those in charge (Municipal Administration, Associations, Parish, Diocese or Ministry of Cultural Heritage) will actively take action for their recovery and preservation.

We would like to thank Prof. Carmine Rega, Mario ("lione") Volino, Viola Santaniello and Giovanni Fortino for their great help in preserving, photographing and cataloging these assets. Carmine Manfredi
